project

Following a refurbishment project, Bouygues Telecom decided to entrust Axione with overhauling the transmission architecture of Clermont-Ferrand’s mobile network.

In January 2019, Bouygues Telecom appointed Axione to migrate 39 radio links, involving 38 mobile sites, in order to ensure continuity of its mobile network service in and around the city of Clermont-Ferrand. This challenge meant that Axione teams had to bring the radio relay system on stream by February 2020.

Axione’s service

Design of remote sites

  • Line-of-sight path defined for the new remote sites of the radio relay links to be used in order to ensure that no obstacles in elevated locations (masts, trees, etc.) were blocking retransmission from the existing remote sites to the new links

Integration and commissioning of new remote sites

  • Recreation of two large-scale nodes for the relay system which represent key concentration points (one of which has become one of the largest radio relay system sites in France)

“The project illustrates Axione’s know-how in technical project management and network lifecycle. It reaffirms and indeed strengthens the links between Bouygues Telecom and Axione. What’s more, it shows our ability to meet carriers’ needs in terms of mobile network development.”
