As part of the New Deal project, Axione’s construction division has commissioned the first New Deal radio site, deployed by Axione in the Var department in south-eastern France.

The challenge:

The New Deal project, jointly developed and operated by the French government and the various national mobile network operators, aims to deliver 4G coverage in areas with mobile signal blindspots. Operators like Bouygues Telecom, Orange, SFR and Free Mobile have undertaken to fill these blindspots over the coming years.

As part of this initiative, Axione’s construction division brought a New Deal radio site on stream in the Var department in May 2020.

The commissioning of this initial 36m-high mast provided 4G network coverage for four operators, serving 700 residents.

I would like to highlight the commitment shown by the 10 or so Axione employees involved in delivering the project despite the constraints posed by the health crisis.
