As promised, 80,000 households in France’s Loire department are already eligible for fibre-optic connections, ranking the Loire among the most active departments in the field at national level. The THD42 public high-speed broadband network, constructed and jointly financed by SIEL-Territoire d’Energie (the joint local authority energy and broadband distribution organisation covering the Loire department), is being rolled out in record time with support from central government, the Region, and joint local authority organisations across the Loire department.
With the arrival of operator SFR, inhabitants already connected to the THD42 network will have a choice of seven providers to enable them to benefit from their high-speed broadband connection and the associated services.
