Cellnex Telecom, the main independent operator for wireless telecommunications infrastructure in Europe and a new entrant in France, has appointed Axione to operate, maintain and design and build part of its network in Greater Paris.

Having acquired Bouygues Telecom infrastructure, comprising towers and rooftop sites, Cellnex Telecom has selected Axione to operate the assets in Greater Paris. The four-year renewable contract for equipment located on 600 rooftops covers preventive maintenance, ensuring assets are inspected every two years, and corrective maintenance performed by on-call Axione technicians who will address network failures or complaints from lessors (rooftop owners) whenever they arise, while at the same time ensuring sites are secured. Axione will design and carry out all telecom site upgrades, incorporating new operator requirements into the infrastructure.

An expert team

Axione, which has been responsible for maintaining the Bouygues Telecom network for over 20 years, was involved in building the acquired sites. It therefore has extensive knowledge of the relevant infrastructure and the work to be performed, expertise valued by Cellnex. Between 10 and 20 employees will be involved in the project.

“Strengths: our tenacity, our capacity to standardise our services, our culture of innovation, our team spirit and the relationship of trust that we build with our clients and partners over the long term”

Gauthier Nanoux – Director of Client Department for Axione’s construction division
